Platelet-Rich Plasma
Symptoms of aging are often associated with the slowing of cellular turnover, resulting in weaker, less functional tissues. Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a revolutionary technique that can be used to naturally restore a vibrant, youthful, and healthy body. Commonly used in sports medicine, it has also been discovered that PRP injections stimulate vascular and collagen regrowth. At Tran Plastic Surgery in Westminster, we recommend PRP injections for patients who want to look and feel younger.

Candidates
People considering PRP treatments should be in good health and have realistic expectations about their results. The cosmetic indications for PRP treatments include wrinkle reduction, elasticity enhancement, skin texture improvement, hair regrowth, and hand rejuvenation.
Other uses of PRP include stimulating orgasms for women, treating erectile dysfunction for men, as well as relieving tennis elbow and wrist pain.
PRP Process
The PRP process itself is minimally invasive, but the injections can be combined with other surgical techniques. PRP is performed in a multi-step process:
- We draw your blood. PRP is preferred by many because it uses your body’s growth factors rather than synthetic products.
- Your blood is spun down, eliminating oil and impurities, leaving only the rich protein plasma behind.
- The plasma is injected into the treatment area including the face, hands, or hairline.
PRP Treatments
Hair Growth
PRP is injected into the scalp to help stimulate the follicles, leading to new, thicker hair growth. PRP achieves the best results on its own when used on thinning hair. People who are balding may consider PRP in combination with other hair transplant techniques.
Hand Rejuvenation
An aging hand appearance is the result of thinning skin and collagen loss. PRP injections stimulate the production of new collagen in the hands, restoring a more plump and youthful appearance.
O-Shot®
The O-Shot® uses PRP to treat sexual dysfunction and urinary incontinence in women. PRP is injected into the clitoris, G-spot, labia majora, and/or urethral area(s) depending on the issue being treated. PRP injections stimulate the production of new cells to increase sensitivity.
Priapus Shot® (P-Shot)
PRP is injected into the penile tissues to increase stimulation in those areas. It is ideal for treating erectile dysfunction, as well as resulting in an increase in size for some patients.
Recovery
One of the enticing benefits of PRP injections is the minimal recovery period. While you will experience some initial bruising, swelling, and redness, most patients can return to their regular activities the next day. Full results should be visible within one week of your treatment.
